7. Reflecting On Dependent Arising, Causes and Conditions
Longchen Nyingtik Meditation 7
The Beginning
Take refuge and arouse bodhichitta.
The Main Part
Contemplate that all phenomena are dependent on the mind and the mind in turn depends on the body; if the body is uncooperative, it will be very difficult to cultivate the mind. At present, I am neither tortured by illness nor enslaved by other people, my mind that all phenomena depend on is full of faith, and my body that the mind depends on is blessed with freedoms and advantages. By now I have amassed all such favorable conditions and I enjoy independence to do things. If I do not practice the Dharma at this time, what other time do I wait for? I must spare no effort on it. In this way, contemplate on the actual conditions of yourself, and reflect deeply.
The Ending
Dedicate all the merit of your practice to all sentient beings.
