Father and Mother Sutra
From the broad sense, all the countless living beings have been my parents in the course of our succession of lives without beginning and they all looked after me with every possible tenderness and all their love, therefore I shall respect and worship them with sincere gratitude.

When parents are still in the world, as children we should pray for their good health and long life constantly; once they pass away, we should rely on the power of Avalokitésvara’s Mani mantra to transfer their consciousness to the Buddha field.
