Upcoming Online Course: Ten Dialogues between Vimalakirti and the Buddha’s disciples
What is a Mahayana meditation? What is the true meaning of renunciation? Why did the Buddha appear to fall sick and ask Ananda to fetch some milk? Through learning the ten dialogues between Vimalakirti and the Buddha’s disciples, we will gain a deeper understanding of the essence of the Mahayana teaching.
We are pleased to announce that on Sunday, November 4, 2018, the Wisdom & Compassion Dharma University will offer the online Dharma course on the Vimalakirti Sutra. We may spend eight or ten weeks focusing on the chapter 3, which presents the ten dialogues between Vimalakirti and the Buddha’s disciples. Through learning these dialogues, we will gain a deeper understanding of the essence of the Mahayana teaching, particularly some key points that are briefly mentioned in the Mahayana teaching but well explained in the Tantrayana context.
The course will be offered in English by the Dharma teachers at Larung Gar in the way of following Khenpo Sodargye’s teaching and his commentary. The reference materials will be provided for each session. We offer the same teaching twice every Sunday to better fit your schedule, and you can choose either of them to follow the courses.
