Rev. Esther Wakeman, Ph.D. is the Chaplain of Payap University, and has worked at the university for 17 years. She is originally from the US, but has lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand since 1979. She completed her B.A. in psychology at Malone University in Ohio, USA, and completed a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in California, USA. She teaches Pastoral Care and Counseling for students studying to become leaders in the church. She loves learning about the connections between psychology (especially brain research) and the Christian faith. She believes that brain science also offers a good platform for interfaith dialogue between Christians and Buddhists.
